To be honest, I haven't really been making the most of my time here in Halifax. I have been making the most of my time close to home (aka spending lots of great time with my mom and family), but not of Halifax itself.
Today I ventured out into the great well-known and searched for some things I love, and some new things to see.
1. This is the view from our apartment window. It's sometimes fun to wake up and listen to the kids play, and try to figure out what they're saying.
2. There are so many trees in Halifax, and I love it. Each street is lined with them.
3. I love the painted electrical boxes in the Halifax area
4. There are cemeteries everywhere in the city. A few of them right downtown in the middle of everything. They're beautiful old ones too, with tons of history.
5. I like Spring Garden Road. It's fun to wander up and down and look at all the fun.
6. There are also a lot of churches in Halifax. Again, really old beautiful ones all over the place.
7. The Urban Cottage is my favourite antique store. Everything has a tag to tell you the Date it came in and the price as of that date. The bigger items have tags that tell you the exact date the price will go down, and to what dollar amount. I love it.
8. Halifax is full of artists. Paintings in fun places, and lot of buskers especially.
9. This is the bench where Eric and I took one of our first pictures together after we got engaged.
10. Anchors always remind me of the east coast, and of Halifax.
11. Theodore Tugboat on the waterfront.
12. Layla. I found a new store today, with cute little clothes and a dress I love.
13. Argyle Street is the place to go when you want to eat. It has all the restaurants and a cute little shop I love.
14. This is a creepy looking construction site on Argyle. I heard though that it used to be full of mannequins for some art project or design thing or something. That'd be much creepier.
15. This is where we took family pictures a year and a half ago. We though it would be the last time we'd all be together as a family for a while. Turns out the next time will be this summer when my grandmas come here to live!
16. Another spot from the family photo shoot. Turns out it's actually like a 4 minute walk from out apartment right now.
17. Inkwell. Another new shop I found. It's all really really cute letterpress prints and cards and things.
18. Pete's is a cute little organic and fancy grocery store downtown. I bought this juice for Eric and I for dinner.
19. These lawn chairs are set up all over the Dalhousie campus downtown. they're painted bright beautiful colours and just look so inviting.
20. Halifax Regional Municipality. I love you.
