Mortgages

So after all the unsuccessful searching we've been doing, we had an interesting chat this past week with Eric's dad. He's almost done his mortgage and a guy in the ward who's a real estate agent told him about a great condo he has for sale at the end of the month. Trevor started to think about it, and then he sat with us and suggested we really start to think about it. That caught us a little off guard, but we did. We started to think about owning our own place. We crunched some numbers and downloaded the real estate ap and got excited about it - but not too excited, just the right amount. Tonight we met with a mortgage broker. It was a really fun experience and I think we both learned a lot.
In the end it didn't all work out that way. We and he decided it was a bit early, and that there was really no need to rush in to something huge like this right away. It's a bit frustrating to get back to apartment hunting, but this was a really good experience and definitely worth our time. It's closer than we thought, but just not quite yet.

Persson's Cleaning

Okay, so I really did think that I was going to get caught up before I started posting and writing again, but it turns out that's not true. Maybe it'll come eventually, maybe not. But 2012 is out now anyway, so oh well!
Today Eric and I officially started our own cleaning business. He has worked so hard to fist get our quote and proposal together, then the contract, then the insurance {which finally came together today} and to buy all the supplies. He finished all the preparations this morning, and we stated the work tonight.
This is such a great opportunity for Eric and I. It will be good business and entrepreneurial experience, as well as a good dose of hard work, and a pretty nice pay cheque in the bank each month. This is the money we will be able to use to save for a house and the other real life grown up things we some day want to own.  It will teach us lots, and reward us even more.
Tonight was tough, as I'd imagine it is to get into the groove with this kind of thing. The job itself is going to take longer than normal at first, just while we get our footing, but soon we should be pros. The hardest part about tonight was that I've been sick lately and literally have not gotten a full night's sleep in about a week and half to two weeks. I really wasn't as quick and nimble, or as helpful, as I think I normally could have been. That made extra work for everyone, but Eric was so patient and kind with me, to let me ease in to it. I'm not as much of a man as he is {thank goodness}. He even brought his great brother Logan along, as well as an extra vehicle, for when I copped out and just couldn't do it anymore tonight. I came home to bed, and those two toughed it out.
I am excited {and nervous and scared and tired} for this adventure we've gotten ourselves into. What next??

Look how excited Eric is too. Just kidding; that's him trying to figure out the stupid remote on my camera.
