Cecelia Turns Two

Cecelia turned two this month, and today we got to celebrate with a few of her princess pals. We got to do some crafts and some colouring and mostly played in her kitchen together. It was fun to have all those little girls together for a couple hours and it was a blast to see them all dressed up.

Cecelia's Party

Today we has a bunch of Cecelia's little friends over to celebrate her first birthday with us. I could just watch little ones play together forever, and today was a lot of fun. They were each a little skeptical of each other at first, but I think they were having a good time by the end of it!
Cecelia's already got all the birthday things down pat. She did a great job opening her presents, and had fun eating her cake, and even blew out her own candle.
Thanks so much to everyone who came and had a great time with us!

Valentine's Day

This year Valentine's Day was very low key at our house. Waking up in the morning it felt like the day would be a big flop because Eric and I were both so lazy and worn out from the wedding. I honestly assumed he had brushed it off. We've never been one for big valentine's days - just small and simple expressions of our love for each other.
This morning he surprised me with my favourite magazine, a little treat, and a really sweet card. Usually we don't buy cards either, but this one was so perfect. It wasn't one of those generic cheesy messages that he could have scribbled out in 5 seconds - it was funny and cute and it actually seemed like word for word was written for us. I had quite a chuckle reading it - and then a little tear. He caught me completely off guard!
He spent some of the day studying for his exam and so Cecelia and I ran out to grab a little something for him - because I was actually the one that kind of forgot. We had a nice dinner all three of us at home - a heart shaped pizza, and then snapped some pictures of our darling little girl. She is the sweetest thing and has completely stolen both our hearts. She really is the greatest part of our lives, and of our love together. I can't believe we created her, and remembering that everyday makes me love this man more and more, until I can barely understand it.
The evening after Cecelia went to bed was just a lazy one lounging around the house - and it was perfect.

Wedding Day

Yesterday Eric's brother Logan married Michelle - who I love so dearly. Welcoming a new member to the family is always exciting, but when it's someone you already love like a sister, it just feels so nice. I am so grateful for the temple and the temporal and eternal blessings it brings to individuals and to families. This was the first time I got to sit in a sealing room and watch someone join my family - the last time it was me. On top of all that, it was the most beautiful day for a February wedding that anyone could have asked for. 15 degrees and sunny. It was unbelievable, and so enjoyable for everyone there.
Congratulations to Logan and Michelle!
