Playing in the Rain

Today we had a very brief but incredible rain and thunder storm. Cecelia and I were sitting in the living room watching it and decided to get boots on to go out and play. By the time we did, it was done. But that didn't stop her from find ways to get wet and dirty. She had a blast for just those few minutes we spent outside, and I had a great time watching her.

Isla Beth

Isla is our newest addition. She joined our family last week, in the comfort and peace of our own home. She weighed and measured exactly the same as her sister (7lbs 11oz and 20") and she is just as perfect Cecelia was then. It was a smooth, safe and healthy delivery and we are overjoyed with her arrival. The last few days have been a blur of breastfeeding and healing and resting and snuggling. Having two girls has brought a new set of challenges to our lives, but take a look and I think you'll agree: we are very blessed.

Cecelia Turns Two

 Cecelia turned two this month, and today we got to celebrate with a few of her princess pals. We got to do some crafts and some colouring and mostly played in her kitchen together. It was fun to have all those little girls together for a couple hours and it was a blast to see them all dressed up.

12 Month Shots

Today I took Cecelia to get her 12 month shots. She had a really hard time with these ones. We sat in the room waiting for the nurse to come back, and I told Cecelia about what was going to happen. She's old enough now, and I know she understands so much. I didn't want her to be taken by surprise. The poor girl cried harder than I've ever seen her cry when she got poked - she could barely catch her breath. But the silver lining was that she turned to me to be comforted. Normally she likes someone to hand her her soother and hold her for a minute, and then she's fine to go, but after her shots she looked right at my face and then snuggled in to me, and for once I finally felt like she needed her mom. Cecelia's really not a baby who does that much, and I have to admit it was a treat for me. All day she wanted her mamma and she sat nicely with me and snuggled. She was a little fussy and antsy, but I enjoyed the little attention I got.

Cecelia's Party

Today we has a bunch of Cecelia's little friends over to celebrate her first birthday with us. I could just watch little ones play together forever, and today was a lot of fun. They were each a little skeptical of each other at first, but I think they were having a good time by the end of it!
Cecelia's already got all the birthday things down pat. She did a great job opening her presents, and had fun eating her cake, and even blew out her own candle.
