Sunday in Phoenix

This day was Sunday. We went to church with the Atwoods, and it was a very enjoyable Christmas service. Plenty of beautiful music, and a wonderful way to start our Christmas holidays. The day was gorgeous as well. Far more sun than I've seen in months, and warm enough for me to be comfortable in a skirt outside.
I got a bad headache at church, so I headed home with Aunt Christina, Aunt Jordena, and Dalene and the littlest ones to get ready for dinner that night. Mostly we turned on the pots, and then took the kids outside and let them run while we sat and soaked up the sun and each other's company. It was a really nice afternoon spent with women I love dearly. We shared stories and fresh grapefruits from the tree. I honestly felt like I was in paradise (except the beautiful blue pool was off limits for the Sabbath day).
The kids were having the time of their lives finally getting outside again, and getting as close to swimming in that pool as they could possibly get away with - Cally even fell halfway in until someone grabbed her quick as light.
Dinner was lovely, and games were played. It really was a great family day.
On the way home we dropped by the Mesa, Arizona temple to see the Christmas lights. It was a beautiful sight, and I wish we had time to see all of the temple, because I actually really like this one. It's gorgeous.
