I love this celebration, it means so much to me. I have now spent four of these with Eric, and each was unique and great.
2009 - YSA dance in Calgary. My favourite song at the time came on and it was the first time I ever sang in front of Eric. It became one of our favourite songs together. He still won't sing in front of me, and I do it all the time, but that's another story.
2010 - We got engaged on the 30th and spent the 31st together. We parked the car at a spot near his old house in Halifax, up on a hill. We watched a moved and ate snacks in the car. At midnight we watched fireworks from the hill and danced outside to my laptop music, until it died. Here's a picture from that night.
2011 - We were in Vienna, Austria. It was amazing. We were with crowds and crowds of people, and it's true what they say, the waltz really does play at midnight while people dance in the streets. It was so romantic. and then everyone sets of fireworks, literally wherever they want to. It's nuts.
2012 - This year was fun too. We went to a party with a bunch of friends and played some really silly games. It was just a nice night, with nothing to big. On the way home though I was getting really sick so we found a 24 hour drug store and picked up some cold and flu meds. Eric is so good to me when I am sick, and he takes such good care of me. I really love him for that.
Can't wait to spend 2013 with him doing great (and probably ridiculous) things.
