Eat, Drink and Be Scary

Last night Eric and I hosted our very first Halloween party. This holiday season will bring a lot of firsts for us with our new home and my new found love for hosting things.
Last night was, to be completely honest, a bit of a mess. I was late getting home from work, late getting Eric's costume together, and late getting mine together. We were late for our own party. On top of that, there were probably twice as many people there as was planned when I was buying food and things, so not everything came together perfectly in the end. I spend most of the evening in the kitchen getting it together and we never did get around to carving pumpkins. Somehow I still had a ton of fun. For the most part people seemed to just enjoy each other's company, and I certainly enjoyed the company of the ladies helping me out in the kitchen.
We had a couple of really old friends come by, a few we haven't seen in months, a 1 year old I haven't seen since her blessing day, and even a couple I had never met before.
Could I have been a bit more organized, and gotten myself a bit more together? Of course! But I had a great time catching up with great friends who I have missed. It was nice to have them all together in my home and enjoying an evening. We'll just give it another try next year!

Happy Halloween from the baker and his bun's mummy.
This is how the night went in this costume. Being a mummy is a lot more than I expected - many surprise adventures challenges.

  1. Time flies when you're having fun. I couldn't believe how quick 11:00 came and that I had to work. Wah, I would have stayed until 2am to carve my pumpkin if it weren't for work. Thanks for hosting!!
