Eric's Week Off

It was so nice to have Eric home for a week and a half of vacation. It came at the perfect time, but left far too soon. We did do lots, and we relaxed lots as well. It was so nice to have him around to be with Cecelia, and I know it made a difference to her as well. It's amazing what you can already tell she likes or doesn't like, at not even 6 months of age.
The first weekend was spent mostly running errands and getting our house in order.
Monday was spent at the lake, and I didn't even get any pictures of it because I just soaked up his company and my little family's time together the whole time. Eric and I swam together to the dock for the first time every. It was like we went on a little tiny date - only we could see a pea sized Cecelia back on the shore with Grandma.
Tuesday was spent getting packed and ready for Eric's family vacation to Cardston (as well as shopping for family picture outfits). Tuesday night - far too late - we left for Cardston. It was to be a week away from home and everyday cares, to be spent with Eric's parents and sisters, Jordan and his kids, and the Burt family. Wednesday and Thursday were spent in Cardston doing all kinds of fun things and all kinds of relaxing.  Friday was a day in Waterton.
Here are the things I did catch with my camera.
Cecelia's first time at the swimming pool with Dad
Max swimming for the first time on his own
Love these two women so so much.
We saw a bear on the side of the road - which is good because Eric told the kids before we left " we'll probably see a bear and if you don't go get your socks on you won't be fast enough to out run it. Someone will likely be eaten by a bear while we're there."
Jordan and his giant foot sitting out from the hike.
Cecelia handled the glacier water better than I did. She was right in there, ready to go.
We even got to see Auntie Rachel - working at the Taco Bar.
There were so many things I did not get pictures of, but I was just enjoying myself too much to even remember to get a camera out.
1. myself, mom and grandma spent some time out at Grandma and Grandma's new (old) house watching them tear it down to make way for a new (brand new) one to be moved on to the property.
2. Eric and Elizabeth had a full day worth of homework to do, where we did not see much of them except at meal times.
3. Uncle Jordan spent most of the week sitting and/or hobbling around because he was stung on his ankle by a wasp and his foot swelled up to at least twice the size of his normal foot.
4. The girls (Elizabeth, Sarah, Jordena and I) watched Music and Lyrics together in the bonus room and did our nails.
5. Plenty of meals eaten, things seen, and moments shared, all facilitated by a wonderful Grandma and Grandpa, who have raised a wonderful set of children.
Cecelia had a rougher than usual time sleeping and nursing while we were there, but it was made so much more bearable by the company of our wonderful man; even in the middle of the night. I was more than spoiled to have him with us.
