Throw Back to a trip to Halifax

When Eric and I were thinking about getting engaged - as in had gone shopping for the ring and it was ordered and it was all but a done deal - we decided to go home to see my family for Christmas. It was the firs time Eric had been back to Halifax since living there the previous summer - since he met my family as the guy who was taking me and all my boxes away to Calgary in his car.
We went shopping for engagement rings that year for my birthday in November, and he told me he was working on something special for me, and I just couldn't wait. I was giddy all the time and so in love with this guy - I was so ready to be engaged. He told me, after lots and lots of teasing him from my side, that he was not going to propose to me before we got to Halifax. He wanted this to be something my family could share with us. So from the night we got on the plane to the night he took me to my favourite restaurant I waited and waited to see that ring. I was so excited to see what he had been working on.
We had a nice trip home with my family - we had Christmas morning, family pictures, and some time to ourselves to enjoy the city we met in. Unfortunately I was not very good or diligent at taking pictures back then, but what I did capture I still have saved on my computer and really enjoy looking back on. We were so in love and freshly excited about what was to become the rest of our lives together.
