Cecelia is 7 months old. She's closer to a year than to the day she was born. That's craziness. It's not even real, it can't be.
This month she has picked up lots of little things that just make her seem less and less like a new born baby each day. She waves very well now, and if you catch her in a good mood she even says "hi" in the same tone of voice that we all use to say it to her. She giggles lots and is generally very pleasant and happy. She still is not sleeping through the night, but we have made naps a part of our routine and those are keeping mommy sane.
She is really interactive these days and seems more and more like a little girl all the time. You can really play with her and she'll play back. When we read books (between wanting to grab it and put it in her mouth) she actually pays attention to the pictures and stays pretty focused. she snuggles me a little more than she has in the past, but still mostly only when she's tired or shy (which almost never happens). She has started to figure out the sign for "more". I think she uses it mostly just to tell me she's hungry for food, but she gets the general idea of what it's for. She even clapped with Grandma the other day at the dinner table. She's also become a lot more observant lately. She can hardly focus on one thing at a time - especially not my boring face she sees all the time. She's always looking around and just taking it all in.
I can't say it enough, I love this girl. I grow to love her more with each new stage. I think she is at my favourite age right now. I just love watching her figure things out. She's sitting up great, and I can see her wanting to move. This is the perfect time - while she's still not.
This month she was way too obsessed with holding and chewing on the little sign, but boy does she have a lot of good facial expressions. Sorry (not sorry) I just couldn't choose my favourite one.
