Here are some pictures and some moments that have happened around here in the last two months that are noteworthy. There are lots, and I hope I've done them justice by at least getting them out now. You always think you're going to remember the wonderful things that happen with your little one - you think "it'd be impossible for me to forget how perfect this moment is" but you do. The blessing of modern technology is amazing - of cameras right in our pockets to capture these fabulous moments you can at least remember most of it. You'll notice that a lot of my lately photos are courtesy of my iPhone, and not my camera. They are just lovely everyday moments that I was not expecting and not anticipating. I think that's what I've enjoyed most about months 8 and 9.
1. Over the last couple months Cecelia has really started to show her personality. She loves to make goofy faces, and will always give you the stare down if you're doing something she does not approve of.
2. Mom let Cecelia watch a show for the first time. I was in a panic trying to get ready for something, and she was whinny and clingy and so I sat her down and put on Netflix. She watched for about 10 mins and then wanted me again. At least I know she's not addicted to TV.
3. Cecelia is still working on her crawling. She hasn't actually gone anywhere yet, but she does a real good rocking motion on all fours.
4. Cecelia has gotten much better at napping lately. She has a set schedule for her naps each day, and does a much better job of just falling asleep when she's ready. This one was in church. I love a sleeping baby girl on my lap - one of my favourite things.
5. Of all the stuffed toys Cecelia has been given by loving friends and family, she loves this duck the best. I don't know if it's the jacket or what, but she thinks he's great. She plays a game with dad where she swings it around by the leg and flops it on the floor and dad laughs a lot. She thinks it's the best.
6. We celebrated Eric's birthday with lunch downtown and a visit to Devonian Gardens. Cecelia actually really enjoyed watching the fish swim around.
7. I love frosty windshields.
8. My goofy nephew Max and I hang around a lot these days while we're at Grandma's and Cecelia is sleeping.
9. This goof and I also spend a lot more time together, which is fun! She is going to be my sister-in-law in February!!
10. Cecelia sees her aunts (on Eric's side) a lot, but I secretly think she has a very special place in her heart for all her uncles. She just cannot get enough of them.
11. Swim time at the Foothills Aquatic Centre
12. Random full family selfie - I love Eric's beard he's growing right now.
13. Our whole little family ended up sick for a couple weeks, and really bad for a weekend or so. I got some extra snuggles from my girl, and it was nice to spend time at home with her just getting better.
14. Elizabeth taught me how to knit and I got a little obsessed. I finished my great big bunchy scarf in just about 2 weeks. It was a blast, and I'd love to do more, but I have too many Christmas projects on the go.
15. We went a little ways north to visit Eric's dad's family. Cecelia met her great grandpa and a great aunt and uncle, as well as Eric's cousin's new daughter. This baby is 2 months old and Cecelia is 9 months old. Cecelia is a small girl, but we like her just the way she is.
16. Cecelia rolled off her first bed. I was honestly just waiting for it to happen - I feel like it's a right of passage. Anyway, I put her on the bed at Nini's house to try to get her to nap, and she cried and cried and would not go to sleep. I finally gave in and went to get her, and on my way there I heard a thud and then a lot more crying. I had a minute to brace myself before I went in there and then I just scooped her up and snuggled her until she was okay. We both did very well - I really think she was more tired than anything else. She gave a few more whimpers and then finally gave in and went to sleep.
17. I took some pictures of my niece Verona for her birthday party. She is a lot of fun to take photos of.
18. Mine and Cecelia's favourite thing to do is sit on the bed and read books. She loves books, and could keep herself entertained with them for a lot longer than toys.
19. We celebrated my birthday. Both our birthdays were low key and casual this year. It was nice. Eric and I went to Christmas in Inglewood after Cecelia was in bed.
20. Eric is working and studying so hard these days. Saturday mornings are my very favourites. Cecelia fell asleep on our bed for a short time and the three of us just got to rest and be together. It was so nice.
Then we spent the rest of that day downtown Christmas shopping and having a good time together.
21. Random selfie with my happy baby girl.
22. I got to visit with these lovely girls. I love my east coast reunions with good old friends. We miss Laura and baby Sophia though, and can't wait to see them in a week or so.

23. We finished up swimming lessons. Cecelia loves the pool, but the water is just too cold most of the time. It's hard for her to really get into the activities when she's freezing. Most of the time we just snuggle in the water.
