Family Day

I missed home today. Last night my mom called me and I missed the call. The time difference is only a few hours, but it messes me up by the time I reach the phone. It always seems to be just a little too late recently. 7 or 8 o'clock here is about the time I'm home and done dinner in the evenings. 10 or 11o'clock Mom's time is probably around when we crawls into bed and doesn't look back.
Anyway, I love you all over there. I hope you're well, and I miss you much. You are a great family!

However, getting married blessed me with a 2nd family. One who we live in the same time zone as; in the same province, city and home as. A family I see everyday. Today we spent this day with them.
Mom and Dad Persson took us all out to Canmore today to go cross country skiing at the Nordic Centre.
None of us had ever done it before, so it sure was an adventure. Pretty entertaining and a ton of fun. We were such first timmers in fact, that when we stood for just a minutre wondering where to go, a woman stopped and told us "That's the trail (pointing), that's the one you're gonna want to stay on." Thanks lady. What a low blow. Anyway, that trail was a enough of a struggle that it was probably good for us to accept it as our fate and not venture furthur.
Here is what we looked like.
It was a beautiful and fun-filled day for us. Unfortunately, this is what happened with the rest of our family, on their way up to meet with us.
The silver pointed side ways to the very left of the picture is our family. Eric's older brother, his wife and two kids. We are blessed that everyone is alright. After spending some time in the hospitals yesterday, everyone came away with definitely non-life-threatening injuries. Thank goodness.
