Christmas Cards and a Photoshoot

I am trying not to get too carried away with exciting Christmas preparations, and so I've allowed myself time on the weekends only for the month of November to prepare for the holidays. Christmas decorations and gift ideas and everything else is basically on my mind all the time, but I'm only allowed to act on it on the weekends. The tree is not going up until the last weekend of the month, since we have to wait for Eric's exam to be over, but until then I have come up with a few things to use my creative holiday spirits and to keep my brain working on and getting excited for our holiday home.
This weekend was Christmas cards. I am so happy/lucky to have a good friend who loves her camera as much (if not more) than I do. She was so kind to do some pictures of us last summer in Halifax for our one year anniversary, and now having her here in Calgary has been a real treat for me. I get pictures of everything I go to with her, and she was even kind enough to dedicate a couple of hours just to Eric and I with her camera. Here are some of my favourites - and yes there are a lot. I couldn't decide on which ones to share, and who cares, it's my blog. I could have shared them all, and you could say nothing about it!
this bird followed us around for a few minutes and actually landed very briefly on Eric's hand!

Thank you so much Laura Dunford for your holiday spirit, patience and very very strong fingers. Thank you for enduring the cold with us, and capturing some great shots.
One or two or three (it's a secret) of these photos have now made an appearance on our Christmas cards that I spent the remainder of the weekend designing and sending out to get printed. I am so excited this year to send out some cards. Eric and I have spent 4 Christmases together (although not all of them married) and this is the first year I am sending out cards. Yeah! And also excited that I managed to throw one together myself. I am very proud, and already feeling very accomplished with my mission of holiday joy and festivities.
Weekend #1: holiday photos and Christmas Cards. Check!
