Last night when we left the hospital our baby had no name. She was Baby Girl Persson.
I have been bugging Eric to talk to me about baby names since we were dating, and he used to always say "we can talk about them when you're pregnant". Well since being pregnant he's talked about them with me, but not very seriously. He really wanted to wait until we met our baby to have any names decided on. Recently we chatted more seriously about it and eventually somehow narrowed it down to two girl names. Those are the two we went back and forth on all night. We both loved them both, but Eric leaned toward one a little more, and me toward the other. I kept asking Eric all night, "what's her name?" and he would just say "I don't know, but we don't need to decide now".
This morning I let Eric sleep in. I just snuggled my baby all morning, and when he did get up the first order of business was to give her a name because everyone was waiting to hear it.
I really wanted my name and so I pushed a little for it. Eric loved it too - like I said we both loved them both so much. He finally said "her name is Cecelia". Now a middle name...
I asked, "if we use Beth as her middle name, can we still use Elizabeth as a first name later if we decide to?" He was thinking the exact same thing. We decided no, but then both thought how about Kate? Kate it is, as a variation of her mother's name. The middle name came to us much easier than the first.
Our baby girl's name is Cecelia Kate Persson. I love her name.
