On Good Friday we had all our Halifax friends over to our place for an Easter dinner. Michelle and I made an Easter dinner about 4 years ago (I can't believe it was that long ago) and it was an absolute disaster. The power was flickering on and off that day from a storm, and so the turkey did not cook all the way through. We had to take it out and microwave it plate by plate to make it even edible. We asked a friend to bring us a hand mixer for mashed potatoes, and he brought us a Bamix, which turned the potatoes to a liquid glue type texture.
This was our chance to redeem ourselves. I made a ham instead of turkey, Michelle brought real mashed potatoes, and our other friends brought delicious things as well. It was a lovely evening. I always love getting together with these guys and spending the holidays with what feels like family.
It was fun this year to have little babies joining us as well. The last time we were all together these babies were still on the inside, but now they are here with us, and there's a third on the inside.
