My poor baby's legs were the victim of a pretty unfortunate event this week - her shots. I took her in to the office, got her weighed (9lbs 10oz) and measured (21 3/4 inches). I got the run down of all the vaccinations she'd be getting and any potential risks involved. I was asked "do I have your permission to go ahead with the needle?" I said "yes". Then my poor baby screamed the loudest I have ever heard her scream. It was so much harder for me to watch than I thought it would be. I knew they were good for her, but a little part of me wanted to punch that nurse lady out and give her a piece of my mind! Cecelia yelled while they did three needles in her legs, and then as soon as they were done she settled a little. I started nursing her and she was calm and quiet for the rest of the day. She slept a lot that day, and was really snuggly (which I was okay with) for a couple of days. She was a little sore and tender for a couple of days. The soother and the Tylenol were our good friends.
I was not aware that I would need a needle as well, and I think I took it worse than she did. I was a little woozy before the shot, and my arm aches even still (nearly 5 days later). She was such a champ!
