Thursday was a bit of a tough day here. Cecelia went through a growth spurt right on cue - on her three month birthday.
She was still a bit restless and unsettled at that point, and very very
attached to me. She nursed just about every other hour, and wouldn't
take her naps. On top of all that my yeast infection came back full
force. I was beside myself not having the energy to nurse Cecelia as
much as she wanted to feed, and I am just glad my mom was home all day
that day to hold her while I pumped and rested and took little tiny
breaks between when she wanted me and only me. I called Eric really
upset that evening, but he is always kind to encourage me and that was
really nice to have.
Friday I did some running around with my dad and then went shopping with my Grandma in the afternoon. She got a mint green and black striped shirt one week too late for all our pictures. Darn.
Saturday was such a better day for Cecelia. She followed basically her normal routine and seemed to be happy to do so. I got to take Cecelia to my favourite place in Halifax. Granny and Papa were
so excited to show her off to all of their friends at the market. She
was a big hit. We also got to see Megan again which is always a good time.
Monday Cecelia and I joined Great Grandma Susan at her place for lunch. Gigi always makes nice salads for lunch, and today was a lovely one with spinach, avocado and salmon. I love grandmothers, and am so glad that Cecelia has so many great ones she gets to know. Today my grandmother taught me how to get into an avocado (because I really like them, but for some reason have always been intimidated by them), and about buying salmon trimmings from the grocery store - a trick that saves a lot of money and tastes just as nice. My dad's mother actually lives with my mom's mother in an apartment together here in Dartmouth. She is away right now visiting all her other children in different parts of Canada and the USA, so we're sad we really missed her.
