I cannot even tell you how much I am enjoying being a mother. I have loved every bit of this experience from my 2nd trimester to now. I have never felt so empowered, so comfortable with myself, and so happy in my family. I love my daughter, and I love experiencing and learning about a mother's love.
I am grateful for the blessing of mother figures in my own life and the things they've taught me. I've always been grateful for wonderful women, but now that I am a mother I am really moved and have found great respect for those who have chosen to, are choosing to, or even who would love to be able to have and raise and devote themselves to children.
This is what my first mother's day looked like, here in Halifax with my own mother and grandmother. We also got to Skype with my younger brother who is on a mission. He got to meet Cecelia.
