On Friday my friends Lena and Lucy came for a visit. They had a library class close by our place and something of ours that we left at their house. They stayed for lunch and then with the beautiful weather outside we took the opportunity to go for a walk. It was so nice to get out and enjoy the sun and get my body moving. For the first time, I walked to Heritage Park from our home and realised that it's not too far of a walk to get there. It took us about 20 mins to walk to the park, we walked some in the park, and then walked home. It was a nice afternoon - and a hot one.
Today I was in desperate need of something to rejuvenate and energize me. I remembered enjoying that walk on Friday with the Bennetts, and thought I should get out and do one myself. I fed Cecelia in the morning, and when she usually goes back down for a sleep I stuck her in her seat, got dressed and headed out. Another beautiful day! When I got to the park I decided "there's no reason I can't be running right now." I dug out the 0-5K running app on my phone, blew off the dust and decided to do Week 1 Day 1 of the training program. I was exhausted and a hot mess by the end of it, but it felt so good to get my body moving even faster and to do something I felt excited about. This was my first run since Cecelia was born, and it felt great. The sunshine is so good for people! It makes a world of difference in the way I feel.
