Weekend Games

...and not I do not mean The Hunger Games (huge unfortunately). I have to wait until Tuesday to see it because I have a sensible husband who likes cheap night, and a small part of me that might actually have died a little in the crowds as well.
Anyway,
I know it seems like I've died, but I haven't. If I had, Eric would have forcefully inherited this blog, and would be responsible with filling it with lovely things about me for all of you to read, always!
So am still here, and so is he. The problem is Pinterest. I blame them. They take up almost all of my daily allotted internet time. Between that and nothing very exciting happening in daily life, I come to the blog with nothing to give.
Today was a little better; Saturday's/weekends usually are. We did a couple of things.
It was a slow boring morning, then we went on one of our favourite dates: hot dogs and ice cream at IKEA. Then we went shopping and then to somewhere I am very excited to talk about.
We went to the grand opening of the Calgary Peace Bridge. This stupid pedestrian bridge has caused so much havoc for the city of Calgary, that I almost want to launch myself off of it. It's ridiculous. The cost and the resources that went into it, have cause a lot of people a lot of grief. Even those people you know don't even know what they're talking about. I hate them. The unknowledgeable protesters. Anyway, because I don't pay much tax to the City of Calgary, and it certainly wasn't my 24 million dollars that paid for it, I thought it was kind of fun to see it at the Grand Opening today.
Truth is, we must not have been so excited because we didn't bother to find out what side of the bridge all the action was on. Here we are on the north side of downtown, while the crew is on the south. So we didn't actually make it onto the bridge. We left, with the intention of coming back, and never did. I still haven't stepped foot on that dumb bridge. The real intention was to come back in our wedding clothes (after hearing the idea on the radio) and being the first couple ever to do photos there. It was going to be fun too, but half way through getting ready and dressed we somehow lost our energy, and that never happened. I did get my dress pressed and my hair done though, so naturally I spent a few minutes of the afternoon soaking that up...what I loser!
Then we went out after dinner to Super Store. Can I just say how much I love this store. It's so perfect, in so many ways that are important to me. Prices, simplicity and cleanliness. Love it. Some how I always forget to go to the bathroom before leaving the house for Super Store though, and some how I always end up spending more time than was originally factored for pee holding. I always end up doing a little dance while Eric looks at clothes, and tonight I got him in on it with me.
We spent more than a few minutes deciding between two card games we wanted to buy. We wanted a new game to play tonight, and to get all of our friends attached to. The decision came down to the Angry Birds Card Game, or Monopoly Deal (card game). Ultimately the urgency of pee took over and we got both. I had to put back my shorts to accommodate it, but that was okay with me. The end was in sight at that point.
At home, we enjoyed two cookies with a shared glass of milk (we are just so cute, you love it.), and played our two card games over and over again until we got the hang of them.
Angry Birds: so so.
Monopoly: so so so much fun. liked that one much more.
Can't wait til we have some friends to play it with. I like being married though, because it means being home alone on Saturday night, means you share the company of one other person. It's pretty nice even to just play the games, Eric and I.
Even though he always wins.
Always.
It was a pretty enjoyable day though, other than Eric always winning, therefore beating me, at our brand new games. It's okay though, I just need more practice.

Anyway, hope this was enough to keep you going...Mom (and whoever else is interested). Good night to you all.
