A while ago when my youngest sisters first saw my apartment they thought it was the coolest thing to have a sister with her own place, so I invited them for a sleepover when school is done. Well, school is basically done, and Eric and are moving out any day now so I had to make it happen, or I'd never live it down. So yesterday Emma and I went to the store and bought some snacks and rented Princess and the Frog and Kung Fu Panda II and her and Hannah packed up their stuff to come over. On the way out Luke asked if he could come too, and I felt so dumb because I didn't think the boy would be interested. He was though, and that made me smile, so he came too.
When we got to my place last night I didn't have keys on me, and Eric doesn't get home til at least about 11:00 most nights. I called him in a frantic panic and he gave me some great advice, and we made it in okay. Then we had a smoothie and some chips and watched Princess and the Frog, to which I fell asleep in less than an hour. Then the kids must have shortly followed because no one made it to the end of the movie.
Then this morning we all watched, (awake and with Eric) Kung Fu Panda, which Eric has been very excited to see. I made German pancakes for breakfast, and then we went out on the town.
I asked in the car where they each wanted to go, and in unison we heard "The Freak Lunchbox!". So that's where we went. It was fun to see them each try to pick out something and make that tough decision. Of all the things in there, Luke got Skittles and Hannah got Whoppers. Emma got some weird squeeze gel stuff that we all made fun of her for, but then secretly liked when we each tasted it.
Sometimes I do this funny thing where I get in my head that Eric likes something a lot, when really it's just me that likes it. That happens occasionally. Most of the time though, it happens where I just think that's what I did, but the truth is he really does like it. Best example: cotton candy. I LOVE cotton candy. Love it! And every time I get it or want it, and double guess and think that Eric doesn't like it and that I just wish he did. Truth is, he does! Anyway, we got a bag of Mike 'n Ike cotton candy to share, which I am very excited about trying tonight when he gets home from work because it combines two of my very very favourite sugary treats!
I had so much fun with the kids coming over. They were really excited for it, and I think they had fun too!
