Two Doctor Visits

My mom came in to town Wednesday morning, and it was so nice to see her get off that plane. We have lots of plans for her time here, and are really hoping that baby comes as soon as possible now that Grandma is here. We have errands to run and things to finish buying before baby comes, and I couldn't be more excited about my mom being here to share it all.
First on the agenda was a midwife clinic appointment. We have been waiting for Grandma to get here before hoping that too much happens with this baby, but now that she is I couldn't be more excited to get the process going - of course wanting everything to happen before my scheduled C Section on the 16th. Sitting in the waiting room we chatted with two other ladies with breech babes. Both had attempted ECVs - one successful and ready any day to deliver her head down baby, and one that messed with the position and changed her from frank breech to incomplete breech. The second mentioned was scheduled for her section the day after mine. Patty, one of the midwives chatted with us for a brief moment. The girl in incomplete position was told by the OB that she won't be able to deliver in that position, so unless babe moves she is out of luck. This freaked me right out - we're in the same position and were under the impression that we will be okay to deliver like that. In the appointment we did my vitals and measured the belly and listened for baby - things looked good. We talked with Julie about our position and she remained confident that it is an okay and deliverable position - back to peace of mind. She asked if I wanted to do a vag exam to see how things were looking and progressing. When she did she was nothing but excited - cervix was soft and about 50% effaced and 1cm dilated. She said to me "would you like me to do a sweep since I'm in here anyway?". We all giggled a little and I said, "of course!".
Things are ticking along and going well. She's confident - and so we are too - that we won't go past due too far. We left feeling much more positive and excited for what is to come.
Thursday afternoon was an appointment with the OB at the south hospital, Dr. Le Jour. This was a follow up to the one last week that my mother-in-law came to with me. She should have reviewed the ultrasound results and be ready to go over all our options and things with us. She didn't actually receive the ultrasound results in time for the appointment, but I told her everything that the doctor at the ultrasound had gone over with me, and she seemed really excited about it all. I told her about my visit the day before with the midwives and so she asked to do another exam. This one was even more exciting than the one before - she said 1.5cm dilated and 70-80% effaced. Do you want another sweep? Yes please! She did that, and said I'm going to call you 2cm!
She booked me in for another ultrasound and follow up appointment for the next Thursday, but said "I'm confident we are not going to see you there. This baby is coming this weekend."
At these end of these appointments I was feeling so many exciting things. I was grateful and wary. I was excited and terrified. I was ready but nervous. The only thing left to do was to get past February 7th because it's Eric's sister's birthday and neither her nor I wanted that to happen. We're there now though so everything so far is going according to plan. I wanted baby to come on Sunday because I thought right on the due date would be cool, but we've agreed that tomorrow would be best because Daddy will have an extra day off work to be home. Can you do that for us baby?
We're all ready for you now - Ieven picked up a bassinet off Kijiji for you today and after 3 days of shopping finally found the fabric for your nursery. I am ready and so excited to meet you!
